Map the highest-risk drain lines
- Document kitchens, floor drains, restrooms, laundry areas and other high-use fixtures.
- Record which lines have backed up, how often and under what conditions.
- Identify cleanouts, access restrictions and areas that cannot be taken out of service easily.
- Keep prior camera findings, repair records and cleaning dates.
- Note grease, scale, roots or other confirmed sources of recurring buildup.

- Cable cleaning, hydro-jetting, chain cleaning and camera inspection serve different purposes. Pipe material, condition, access and the type of deposit should guide the method. A camera may be helpful when a blockage returns or the line condition is uncertain.
